Book week is something we at Mums Take Five just Love.

Book Week is a great time to explore new food ideas and recipes with your children whilst reading your favourite books.

There are so many books with bears in them. From Goldilocks to The Very Cranky Bear.

These yummy cookies are just what a bear would love maybe your children will too.

Oats and Honey Cornflake Cookie

Ingredients

200g Butter

½ cup Honey

2 ½ cups Self Raising Flour

2 cups Cornflakes

½ cup Rolled Oats

1 tablespoon white Chia seeds

Method

  • Preheat oven to 160 Celsius fan forced.
  • In a saucepan heat the butter and honey together until melted.
  • Mix all the dry Ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Stir in the melted butter and honey and mix well
  • Roll about a tablespoon of mixture into balls and then press slightly when placing on lined tray.
  • Bake for about 10 – 12 mins until they are golden.

Makes about 30 cookies. Great for school lunches.

Yum. For some reason I don't really like cornflakes as a breakfast cereal but I do like them in biscuits.

add a 1/4 cup brown sugar,or make with treacle instead of honey and Ial so add 3/4 cup nuts.
