Chocolate Cupcakes Quick and Easy
This easy Chocolate Cake Recipe can also be cupcakes. I find it so veratile and easy to add different flavours to. Its my go to for many morning teas, parties and treats.
Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
185g unsalted butter, softened
1 3/4 cup self-raising four, sifted
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs
Method
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease and line a 22cm cake tin and set aside.
2. Using an electric mixer in a large bowl beat together the butter, sugar and vanilla until pale and creamy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time ensuring to mix in well each time.
4. Sift into the bowl together the flour and cocoa. Alternate doing this with the milk combining as you go to keep the batter smooth.
5. Pour into cake tin and bake for 40 - 45 minutes or until a clean skewer comes out clean.
Leave to rest for ten minutes before transferring to a cooling rack
This recipe works for cupcakes too. Just pour evenly into 12 patty pans and bake 12 - 15 mins
Wait till cakes are completely cool before icing.
