Delicious Everyday Chocolate Crunchy Cookie
Afghan Biscuits
Not sure why they are called Afghans and there is plenty of Google theories but none of that matters, what does matter is the biscuit itself and here is my version of the recipe.
Afghan Biscuit Ingredients
200g Butter soft
1/2 cup Castor Sugar
1 1/4cups Plain Flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup Cocoa
2 cups Cornflakes
Biscuit Method
Cream the butter and sugar in a mixer until light and fluffy.
Sift in the flour, baking powder and cocoa into the mixer and mix well.
Fold in the cornflakes
Spoon onto baking paper covered trays and press tops down with back of spoon.
Bake at 170 degrees Celsius fan forced for approx 15mins.
Makes approx 30 biscuits.
Chocolate Topping
200g Dark Chocolate melted. I just melt in the microwave.
Well traditionally they were topped with a walnut ... feel free but I much prefer topping with pistachio or flaked almonds.
