If you are like me and don’t have a lot of time but love DIY projects, thenyou’ll love this.
These are the simplest ways to make paper wheels. I have looked online and been overwhelmed with all the different materials, tools and time it takes to make these beautiful decorations. I was almost put off until I just tried doing it ‘my way’ (the cheat’s way). Now they may not be perfect but that’s what I love about them, they look home made.
You’ll need:
-
2 sheets of square card paper (coloured on both sides if you want to hang them freely)
-
Stapler
Optional:
-
Scissors – if you’d like to make smaller wheels or cut the ends off the paper.
-
Double sided sticky tape – use the double sided sticky tape in both step, 3 & 4.
Step 1. Start off by folding the paper back on forth on itself like an accordion. Do this with both sheets.
Step 2. Fold them in half to find the centre and stable them in the centre, on the crease.
Step 3. Pull two sides together and stable once, one at the end and again as close to the centre as you can.
Step 4. Now you have to halves, join them together the same way to create the full circle and you’re finished!
Blue Tac them to the wall, hang them with fishing line or glue them to a backdrop. However you show them off, they will make wonderful display!
I’ve attached them to our website launch party bags for that extra little Mums Take Five touch.
Tips:
-
Create more interest by using different sizes, mix colours and add edgings to each wheel.
